CMB’s legislation enables establishment as permanently or temporarily of Real Estate Investment Fund (REIF) in order to manage the portfolios predominantly comprised of real estates, property rights and other assets and transactions specified in the communique, with the money collected from qualified investors in return for fund units, in accordance with fiduciary ownership principles. The Funds have legal entity limited to the registration and relevant operations in land registry. In other words real estates and property rights shall be registered in the land register on behalf of the Fund. Otherwise REIFs don’t have legal entity like other funds.
